Strawberry Health Benefits
Strawberries have a lof of health benefits. They provide us with a lot of nutrients and are a low-carb fruit. Strawberries, along with the rest of the berries, provide strong antioxidants. These antioxidants include Vitamin C, quercetin, and Ellagic acid, which, among other things, prevent heart diseases and have anti-aging properties. They also destroy the free radicals that harm cells and can lead to cancer. Strawberries contain polyphenols, flavonoids (anthocyanins), fiber, and vitamins. Flavonols (such as quercetin) are powerful antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancerous properties. Anthocyanins can lower cancer risk, LDL oxidation, myocardial infarction, and age-related neurodegenerative disorders. They also have anti-inflammatory properties. Strawberries are also used to achieve weight loss and manage obesity. However, it does not mean that eating Strawberries can cure you of something serious. While you can benefit from eating fresh strawberries, you should always consult your doctor before taking an alternative supplement to your medications.
Uses
Besides the medicinal purposes that Strawberries have, they are consumed fresh or dried and they make good jams, preserves, and good wine.
