Monthly Spanish Olive Oil Market Report - May 2025
On June 11, 2025, the Spanish olive oil market received a significant boost following the release of AICA’s (Agencia de Información y Control Alimentarios) latest figures, highlighting a continuous recovery after two difficult years marked by drought-induced shortages and reduced yields.
The total olive oil production in Spain for May 2025 reached an impressive 1,414,124 tons, marking a strong rebound. During May, production increased by an additional 971 tons, while the current market output is reported at 120,095 tons.
Market inventories remain robust, with producers holding 555.574 tons and packers storing another 200.609 tons, resulting in a combined total stock of 763.311 tons. This elevated stock level points to a stable market with ample supply, creating new opportunities for traders and producers as June progresses.
The industry had been closely anticipating the release of these figures, as updated commercial (national trade and exports) and inventory data are crucial for informing upcoming pricing strategies and market planning.
