How does climate change affect agriculture?
Agriculture is heavily affected by climate change. Extreme weather conditions threaten the crops and hence the financial survival of millions of smallholders worldwide, who do not have access to insurance or state subsidies for the loss of their harvest. Climate change includes significant changes in temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns, among other effects, that occur over several decades or longer. All these sudden changes threaten crops of all kinds, reduce crop yields and leave farmers with no plan on how to reverse the effects of climate change.
