What is resilience?

Resilience means the ability to recover from difficult situations. Resilience can be used to describe a single plant or a whole ecosystem. It refers to the organism's capability to withstand stressful conditions and recover quickly. For example, as resilient, we define a crop that manages to survive, retain its growth and reproduction during a drought and regain its vigor and yield potential in a short period of time after the drought has passed.
