Yahaya Jumanne is a Forest Gardens expert and environmental educator based in Arusha, Tanzania. With a degree in forestry from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Yahaya has trained over 500 farmers in designing and implementing Forest Gardens—integrated agroforestry systems that promote environmental conservation, food security, and sustainable livelihoods. Currently serving as a Forest Garden Project Officer at KIWAMWAKU Foundation, he leads efforts to transform dryland areas and rural landscapes through agroecological practices. Yahaya is also the founder of the Green Heritage Organization and an active advocate for nature-based solutions, gender-inclusive training, and biodiversity restoration. As a Kectil Colleague, he is part of a global network of young changemakers driving social and environmental impact.
