Dodoma, Tanzania – The Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN) and the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration on climate-smart agriculture, youth engagement, capacity-building, and sustainable development initiatives in Tanzania and beyond.
Signed on 11th April 2025, this strategic partnership marks a significant step forward in empowering young people to drive sustainable agricultural practices and climate action through innovation, education, and entrepreneurship. The MoU outlines shared goals to integrate climate-smart agriculture principles into academic curricula, host joint capacity-building workshops, and develop community outreach programs that align with Tanzania’s national development priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Speaking at the signing ceremony, representatives from both GCSAYN and TIA emphasized the importance of youth as key stakeholders in the climate resilience and sustainability conversation.
"This partnership reflects our mutual commitment to harnessing the potential of young people in shaping a climate-resilient future," said a spokesperson from GCSAYN. "Together with TIA, we aim to equip students and youth communities with the tools and knowledge they need to become change makers in agriculture and sustainability."
TIA echoed this sentiment, noting that the collaboration will enrich the institution’s academic and research programs while providing students with real-world opportunities to contribute to national and global sustainability efforts.
The agreement lays the groundwork for a variety of collaborative initiatives, including student internships, joint research, public awareness campaigns, and the integration of climate-smart practices in entrepreneurial development.
This MoU is a testament to the power of partnerships in advancing inclusive and innovative approaches to address the challenges posed by climate change and youth unemployment.
