PROSPER is an EU project that will deliver sustainable technical solutions through the valorization of highly resilient orphan legumes (OLs). It aims to support agricultural diversification by giving farmers access to a wider range of selected cultivars, improving productivity under challenging environmental conditions. In parallel, PROSPER will strengthen value chain diversification by promoting new legume-based products for the food processing and bio-circular economy sectors. The project will operate across Mediterranean, Central, and Northern Europe, addressing different pedoclimatic conditions through a multi-actor approach that actively involves stakeholders in co-creating practical solutions. PROSPER will develop participatory spatially explicit information services to provide tailored, on-demand knowledge to end-users, while advancing research on resilient legume accessions, their agronomic performance, and nutritional value. Through technology transfer and demonstration activities, PROSPER will promote adoption of innovative legume-based technologies, enhancing crop diversity, environmental resilience, and sustainable farming practices, while supporting biodiversity protection and socioeconomic development across Europe.
