Laiba Afzal is an agronomist and AI Agriculture Research Intern at OmniSolve AI in Pakistan, where she contributes to the Kisan Pukar AI project, conducting field research, engaging directly with farmers, and evaluating AI-powered advisory tools to make digital agricultural services more practical and accessible. She holds a BSc (Hons.) in Agriculture with a major in Agronomy from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and previously completed a research internship at the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI), where she gained hands-on experience in sugarcane field trials, crop monitoring, and soil fertility assessment. Her fieldwork covers issues such as soil salinity, irrigation constraints, and pest and disease pressure in cotton and rice systems, and her interests lie in combining agronomy, research, and technology to develop farmer-centered solutions that improve productivity and sustainability.
