I’m Hyeonji Song, a soil scientist, and I primarily work to promote carbon sequestration and soil health in agricultural soils. My work cores have three main themes: 1) clarifying links between soil organic matter and nitrogen and agricultural cropping systems (e.g. prairie, rice field); 2) quantifying the realistic potential of agricultural soils to contribute to climate mitigation; and 3) identifying sustainable soil management for climate mitigation and adaption. My expertise spans the measurement of soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics and data science. I have experience in field experiments, statistics, data science, education, and project management.
