Nyarko Agyei is a PhD researcher in plant breeding and agronomy at Texas A&M AgriLife, focusing on sustainable and regenerative agriculture, soil health, and the use of remote sensing to assess crop performance and improvement in agroecosystems. His work combines high-throughput phenotyping, quantitative genetics, and field-based breeding to address challenges such as climate change, drought, and disease resistance. He is the first author of published research on the resistance of tomato genotypes to Ralstonia solanacearum in Ghana and was selected into the Bayer University Mentoring Program (B4U) for 2025. Prior to his PhD, he worked on hybrid maize development and commercialization at Newage Agric Solutions Ltd. in Ghana, bridging academic research with practical seed industry experience.
