Nuno Meira is an Agricultural Engineer with almost three decades of experience in agriculture, CSA+biodiversity, agricultural risk management, agricultural insurance/reinsurance/microinsurance, and International Economic Development and Cooperation developed, on-location, over 7 different countries (Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Senegal, Ukraine, Philippines, Germany), and with experience as well in South America. Nuno Meira has cumulative experience in the private sector as an International Agricultural Reinsurance Broker having been the former EMEA Agricultural Specialist at “Guy Carpenter” (“Marsh and McLennan Group of Companies”) and creator of Ferrer & Ojeda's agricultural reinsurance department in Barcelona, and in International Development and Cooperation, plus agricultural research organizations (ILO, IFC/World Bank, CIM/GIZ, IsF/Frankfurt School of Finance, CGIAR/ICRAF-World Agroforestry), on business development, change management and innovation, agricultural insurance/reinsurance/microinsurance, capacity building of organizations, vocational training, funding, and writing of proposals. He is also an author registered in the Portuguese Author's Society, a former member of the IAPWE- International Association of Professional Writers and Editors based in NY, a former member of the Microinsurance Network, and is part of several consultancy rosters such as DEVEX's curated list of experts on food security and business development.
