About
I am a passionate animal scientist committed to enhancing global food security, diversity, and resilience through genomics. I hold a Bachelor's in Animal Science from Ekiti State University, Nigeria, where I graduated with First Class Honours. I am pursuing a Master's in Animal Breeding and Genetics, specializing in improving milk production in local African goat breeds. My journey in agriculture began in childhood, fostering years of hands-on experience working with farm animals, particularly poultry and goats. This practical foundation fuels my research, which focuses on leveraging genomics to unlock the potential of indigenous goat breeds. My long-term vision encompasses promoting the nutritional value and economic potential of dairy goat farming, developing innovative genomic approaches to enhance milk yield and quality in African goat breeds, and educating and inspiring people about the importance of sustainable agriculture and its vital role in global food systems. At Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) Farm, I served as an Animal Husbandry Intern, shadowing the manager, collaborating with departments, and researching industry innovations. As a Research Assistant at the Animal Science Laboratory, I honed my skills in scientific research and lab techniques. I am committed to continuous learning and have earned certifications in Feed Mill Management (US Soy Excellence Center), AI Career Essentials (ALX AICE), Human Resource Management, and Project Management Professional (Dek Global Consulting Ltd). My professional affiliations include the US Soy Excellence Center (USSEC), the National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), and the Animal Sciences Students' Association of Nigeria (ASSAN). I am also a recipient of the NAWA Scholarship from the Polish Government.
