AGRO-WELL (Agricultural Robotics and Augmented Reality for Workplace Enhancement and Labor Linkage) is a 60-month Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action that aims to improve working conditions, safety, and sustainability in European agriculture through advanced digital technologies. The project addresses the high physical and occupational risks in farming and the sector's declining attractiveness by leveraging robotics, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality to enhance occupational safety and health (OSH), support smarter farm management decisions, and reduce environmental impacts across four farming systems. AGRO-WELL combines interdisciplinary research, technology development, and real-world assessment of five key technologies, while also fostering market uptake through innovative business models and an open technology competition supported by cascade funding. The results will be translated into dissemination activities and policy recommendations to support sustainable and socially responsible technological transitions in agriculture.
