What is industrial agriculture?

Industrial Agriculture is the intensive and competitive farming model we have seen through the last decades. Industrial Agriculture is characterized by big farms that produce the same crop year after year with extensive use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. In most cases, achieving the best yield at all costs is the only thing that matters in Industrial Agriculture. In these monoculture farms, local ecosystems and biodiversity suffer, while soil and other natural resources have constantly been depleted, something that is not fair for the next generations of farmers.
