Agrivoltaics is the system/practice of the simultaneous use of land for photovoltaics/solar panels installation (or other means of collecting solar energy) and agricultural activity.

Agricultural activity can be either growing plants or animal grazing. Some parameters should be considered by those concerned before installing the photovoltaic panels. These are the height of the plants and PV panels, the direction of the rows, and the crop choice to prevent the negative effect of shading. In some cases, shading is beneficial as the plants are protected from the sun’s UV radiation.
