International OFE Conference 2023

The global OFE Network and many other institutions and organizations such as CornellCALS, GFAR, ISPA, and many others organize the 2nd International OFE Conference Conference!

The organizers’ agenda is to coordinate the production of a global picture of change at the intersection of agricultural, social, and data sciences.

On-Farm Experimentation (OFE) is a systematic approach to conducting scientific experiments directly on farmers’ fields. It involves implementing new agricultural technologies, practices, or management strategies to assess their effectiveness and potential impact in real-world farming settings. By conducting experiments on actual farms, OFE enables researchers to generate context-specific knowledge and practical insights that can directly benefit farmers and contribute to sustainable agricultural development. It involves active collaboration between researchers, extension agents, and farmers to co-design, implements, and evaluate experiments, ensuring the findings are relevant, actionable, and tailored to local contexts. Lastly, OFE plays a crucial role in promoting innovation, enhancing productivity, improving sustainability, and addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

Apart from the conference, many Pre-Conference workshops will take place from August until October.
