Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Leadership for a Sustainable Future
Scheduled for June 5th and 6th, the 2-days event will provide a platform to celebrate and inspire the remarkable Mediterranean women who are leading the change in driving the green transition across the region.
It will also showcase key initiatives and international organizations that are actively working towards gender equality, urging for greater support and action.
The primary objective of this event is to showcase the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls while raising awareness about their pivotal role in propelling the green transition. It serves as a stark reminder that a persistent gender gap persists when it comes to accessing research, innovation, and business opportunities. The event places a strong emphasis on the urgent need for implementing solutions and taking concrete actions to build a more sustainable and inclusive future by addressing gender equality in the realm of research and innovation.
The two-day program led by PRIMA features two interconnected activities, including a webinar organized by the SFS-MED Platform, an influential multistakeholder Mediterranean initiative co-led by FAO, UfM, PRIMA and CIHEAM (see in details the program of the two-days event at the end of the article).
