Agroforestry as an opportunity for biocyclic vegan agriculture

September 13, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Agroforestry as an opportunity for biocyclic vegan agriculture

Lecture in the context of the ”Forum Biozyklisch-Veganer Anbau”:

Agroforestry as an opportunity for biocyclic vegan agriculture

Agroforestry systems offer numerous climate and environmental benefits and, at the same time, also open up many new economic perspectives for agricultural operations. Attractive potentials can also arise for biocyclic vegan agriculture from the joint cultivation of trees and productive agricultural or horticultural use, e.g. increased product diversity. By increasing resilience and biodiversity, agroforestry systems also have unique characteristics that ensure greater sustainability, more climate protection and better climate adaptation in agriculture.

Agroforestry as an opportunity for biocyclic vegan agriculture1

Since 2023, agroforestry systems have been eligible for funding in Germany. However, given existing regulations, there are still some hurdles and obstacles that need to be taken into account.

We want to talk to Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Daniel Fischer, an agroforestry expert for over 20 years, about this fascinating and forward-looking complex of topics. In addition to the advantages and various utilisation potentials of agroforestry systems, he will discuss the legal framework conditions and obstacles and report on practical experiences. We look forward to a professional exchange with him!

The lecture (in German) will be online via Zoom platform on Wednesday,  13 September 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
