By the term biostimulants, we describe products that do not directly fall under Plant Protection Products as they do not show direct toxicity against crop enemies, neither under the category of fertilizers (nutrient products).

When applied to the plant (canopy or roots), they induce metabolic mechanisms for nutrient uptake, efficient use, and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress.

The category of biostimulants includes humic substances, phosphonates, chemical elements, chitin and chitosan derivatives, anti-respiratory agents, amino acids, the protein harpin, beneficial microorganisms, algae, and yeast extracts.
