Terra Nostra and EIT Food are honored to invite you to the second edition of the International Forum on Regenerative Agriculture, BIO_REACTION, taking place on June 13, 2024, in Pierzchno near Poznań, Poland. This forum will offer a unique opportunity for networking and exchange of experiences for agricultural entrepreneurs, scientists, and industry representatives from across Europe. As co-organizers, we aim to promote sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to transforming the food system. The event is free, and registration can be completed at www.bioreaction.pl/zapisy.
“The future ahead of us is one where regenerative agriculture is not just a trend but the foundation of a sustainable food system. The BIO_REACTION forum is where this vision crystallizes into reality through innovation, dynamic collaboration, and robust knowledge exchange,” says Marja-Liisa Meurice, Director of EIT Food North-East.
The BIO_REACTION program will feature panel discussions such as “Regenerative Agriculture – Evolution or Revolution?” with participation from farmers involved in the EIT Food Regenerative Agriculture Programme; “Soil Richness: A Farmer’s Responsibility and Guarantee for Yielding”; as well as stories from farmers who have successfully implemented regenerative practices. There will also be scientific debates on climate change and carbon farming, discussing its environmental benefits and dispelling related myths, along with practical discussions about the future of enterprises in a sustainable food supply chain, featuring Marja-Liisa Meurice, Director of EIT Food North-East.
Among the invited speakers is Frédéric Thomas, a French farmer and agroecology expert who has been engaged in regenerative agriculture on his farm in Dhuizon for over 30 years.
During the forum, participants will not only listen to inspiring lectures but also experience regenerative agriculture in action. This practical segment of the event offers a unique chance to get acquainted with the latest technologies in the field. Innovative experiments and agricultural practices revolutionizing modern agriculture will be showcased, providing an opportunity to see, touch, and assess the potential of new solutions proposed by startups affiliated with various EIT Food programs.
“Innovation and entrepreneurship are the driving forces of future agriculture. Every agrifood sector startup participating in BIO_REACTION will present solutions that address the real needs of both farmers and consumers,” says Ewa Karólewska, Senior Manager of Startups at EIT Food.
The day will culminate with time for networking at thematic tables and an evening full of relaxation and entertainment, featuring a barbecue and concert by Dizzy Boyz Brass Band + Daniel Moszczyński.
We encourage you to register and join us to shape the future of sustainable food production. In addition to the on-site event, this year’s edition of BIO_REACTION will also be available via an online stream on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/events/7195809662867247104, enabling participants from around the world to join the discussions.

EIT Food is the world’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community. We accelerate innovation to build a future-fit food system that produces healthy and sustainable food for all.
Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, we invest in projects, organisations and individuals that share our goals for a healthy and sustainable food system. We unlock innovation potential in businesses and universities and create and scale agrifood startups to bring new technologies and products to market. We equip entrepreneurs and professionals with the skills needed to transform the food system and put consumers at the heart of our work, helping build trust by reconnecting them to the origins of their food.
We are one of nine innovation communities established by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), an independent EU body set up in 2008 to drive innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.
The Regenerative Innovation Portfolio is a collaboration platform that brings together a wide array of actors within Europe to implement the critical systemic shifts needed to fix our broken food system. It was established by EIT Food in collaboration with the Food Innovation Hub Europe Initiative and Foodvalley NL.
It seeks to unlock new partnerships across the food and agriculture value chain, bringing practical solutions to enable viable short and long-term business models for farmers who want to transition towards regenerative agriculture.
Our mission is to remove system-level barriers to farmers’ adoption of regenerative agriculture by demonstrating pathways to transform at scale, boosting the supply and value of regeneratively produced products, and delivering ecosystem services while de-risking the farmers in the transition.
The EIT Food Regenerative Agriculture Programme aims to support farmers across Europe in transitioning to regenerative agriculture. It promotes sustainable farming practices that not only positively impact soil quality but also contribute to the production of food with higher nutritional value. The EIT Food Regenerative Agriculture Programme includes on-site training for farmers, advising, as well as webinars and manuals on regenerative practices for specific crops, available to all interested farmers. Furthermore, we organize events promoting regenerative agriculture and carry out educational activities for consumers. Our approach is based on collaboration among various stakeholders, such as farmers, researchers, startups, the processing industry, and consumers, to jointly create beneficial and lasting conditions for the development of regenerative agriculture.
