Madhura Rao is a food systems researcher and a post-doctoral fellow at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam where she focuses on engaging science and society for food system transformation. Before this, she was a PhD candidate at Maastricht University’s Food Claims Centre Venlo where she investigated food waste valorisation opportunities in the context of EU law and policy. Alongside her academic career, Madhura also engages in science communication and research outreach activities that allow her to talk about how our food is produced, its social and environmental impact, and what food systems of the future might look like.
