PhD Candidate at Agricultural University of Athens
Raised in Greece with a deep passion for nature, especially for plants, insects, and microbes, Eirini has always been fascinated by the wonders of the natural world. Currently, she’s a PhD candidate in Plant Science at the Agricultural University of Athens, undertaking enthusiastically cutting-edge research on plant protection and soilless culture for sustainable agriculture. Her academic journey began at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she earned her BSc & MSc degrees, specializing in Plant Protection-Entomology and Plant Pathology (specialized in Plant Virology), respectively. Along the way, she enhanced her expertise at top European institutions, including the Faculty of Biotechnology at the Catholic University of Porto, INRA in Avignon, NIOO-KNAW in Wageningen, and Utrecht University as an assistant researcher. These diverse experiences have shaped her into a globally-minded researcher, ready to collaborate with experts from all corners of the world.
