Selection of Foreign Candidate for admission to the PPGA/UFLA – Postgraduate Program in Administration

CALL PPGA/UFLA Nº 1, 15/08/2022  

Through this Public Call, the Graduate Program in Administration (PPGA) makes public the  opening of registrations for the Selection Process of foreign students at the Federal  University of Lavras to start the PhD course in the 1st academic semester of 2023.  

1. NUMBER OF VACANCIES  

1.1. The PPGA is authorized to select candidates to fill the vacancies listed below:  PhD in Administration – 1 position  

2. REGISTRATIONS  

2.1 Applications for the selection process of the Postgraduate Program in Administration  must be made by e.mail [email protected], with the subject “Foreign doctorate application”.  2.2 The approved registrations will be available on the program pages, according to the  schedule specified in item “3. CALENDAR”.  

2.3 Upon registration, the following documents will be required to be sent by email:  

• Copies of undergraduate and master’s degrees.  
• Academic transcript of the undergraduate and master’s courses.  
• Complete curriculum vitae, including professional training, academic training, scientific  production, professional experiences, academic experiences and other information deemed  important.  
• Research project, with indication of possible advisors. 

2.4 Students who have already completed the master’s course in their country of origin or in  Brazil are eligible to participate in the Selection Process

It is the full responsibility of the candidates to constantly check the information related to  the selection process.  

4. CARRYING OUT THE SELECTION PROCESS  

4.1 The selection process will be carried out by the Collegiate of the Graduate Program or by  Faculty Committees designated by the Collegiate, on dates set in the calendar established by  it.  

4.2 It will be up to the Program Coordination to disclose on its website, throughout the  selection process, all documents generated by the event, providing wide visibility and  transparency of the procedures.  

5. SELECTION CRITERIA  

5.1 The Evaluation Committee, composed of three members, will assess the following items,  with a score from 0 to 10:  

– Research project (weight: 50.0%)  

– Interview (weight: 50.0%)  

5.2 The interviews may be carried out in Portuguese or English.  

6. PRELIMINARY AND FINAL RESULTS 

6.1 The preliminary result of this Selection Process will be published by the Program on its  website, according to the schedule specified in item “2. CALENDAR”. The result will be  published in alphabetical order and the scores in descending order of score.  

6.2 For approval, the candidate must have obtained a minimum final grade of 6.0 (six).  

6.3 From the disclosure of the preliminary result, the candidate will have 10 (ten) days to file  an appeal through the form available on the Program page.  

6.4 The final result will be approved by the Dean of Graduate Studies and published on the  website www.prpg.ufla.br, according to the schedule specified in item “3. CALENDAR”.  

6.5 The selected candidate will be entitled to receive a doctoral scholarship from Fapemig  exclusively for foreign students, for a period of up to 48 months, in the amount of  R$2,750.00 per month.  

7. GENERAL PROVISIONS  

7.1 The omitted cases will be analyzed and resolved in the first instance by the Program  Collegiate and later, if an appeal is filed against the decision, by the Dean of Graduate  Studies.
