Value chain analyst and business development specialist
Wangechi kuria studied Economics and Finance degree from Kenyatta University, and a master’s degree in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Her maters thesis titled “Value chain analysis and performance of floriculture exporting firms in Kenya” strengthened her journey as a value chain analyst. She is also a certified business trainer (GYB,SYB,IYB program) by International Labour Organization-ILO. Over the past seven years wangechi has worked in various value chains in rural Africa such as cocoa in Nigeria, Coffee in Ethiopia, Dairy in East Africa, horticulture in Kenya, Blacksoilder fly in Kenya, goat and sheep meat in ASAL areas,Maize in East Africa and blue economy in Zambia and Botswana. Currently, Wangechi works as National SMEs expert at Fair and sustainable Consulting. She is also a dairy farmer in peri-urban setup, in Kiambu county Kenya where she produces milk as well as value addition for yoghurt and mala. Her main interests are agribusiness, Sustainability, Agritech innovations, MSMEs and youth employment in sub-Saharan Africa.
